this is a collection of product photography that i shot for shorthairedgirl. these pictures were taken indoors, but i did just about everything i could think of to make these items look like they were shot outside except bring them into photoshop. i used a combination of natural light and fluorescent tubes of varying temperatures, including whites ranging from a sunshiny 5000K to an overcast 6500K. I even tossed in a few plant and aquarium tubes that put out high levels of red.

the scene was laid out in my living room on an ikea dining table that probably wasn’t designed to have 200 pounds of rocks piled onto it. i’m surprised it didn’t break. the light rigging was completely home brew and involved things like zip ties, a step ladder, a wire closet maid shelf, and even some clothesline.
